Michael Jordan in 1985 received the honour of being named NBA Rookie of the Year after launching his career in his debut season with an impressive point per game average and an immediately apparent drive for success. Air Jordan decided to commemorate this achievement with the November 2018 release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Rookie of the Year. This high top tribute features white-based leather upper with tan overlays lifted straight from the 'Gold Harvest' colourway which appear on the mudguard, ankle, eyestay, and heel. Hidden on the inside of each strap on the upper are callouts to MJ’s outstanding rookie season. ‘1984-85 R.O.Y. 2313 POINTS 28.2 PPG’ can be found on the inside of one strap, and a quote from Jordan can be found on the other. This shoe is another excellent celebration of the Jumpman Brands main man's breathtaking career and is as historical for sports than as it is stylish for fashionistas.
